For the 17th edition of EXPLOSIVE our focus is on young dance.

 

EXPLOSIVE 2019 promotes the exchange between young dance enthusiasts not yet enrolled, students from various dance academies in Germany as well as professionals from the Independent Faction. Performances, workshops and studios throughout Bremen serve the networking and further education. For four days, we will be dancing, discussing, networking, researching and celebrating.

 

We are looking for contemporary dance routines and performances from young dancers and choreographs. And explicitly for creations from young people who are not yet professionals!

 

We appeal to solos, duos or group performances with a duration of 5 to maximum 45 to apply!

 

In addition to the Audience Award, the EXPLOSIVE 2019 jury will award a residence prize; for two weeks, the nominated groups will have the opportunity to continue their research on existing performances or develop new ones, supported by mentors and technical equipment. At the end of the residence, they will present the results at Theater Schlachthof.

 

The festival takes care of your travel expenses and provides you with a place to sleep as well as food. We also pay evening salaries.

 

We’d like you to stay in Bremen for the full three days.

 

If you want to participate with your work, send us your application to explosive@schlachthof-bremen.de until 25 March 2019, including the title and duration of the performance, names and information on the choreograph and the dancers, video footage, a short description of the piece as well as your technical requirements.

 

We will inform you about the jury’s decision the first week of april.
